IBM Sr VP Robert "Blabber Mouth" Moffat’s real crime may be that he did indeed profit from trading on insider info !
Blabber Mouth was Chair of the IBM Compensation Committee, and had the ear of IBM CEO Samuel "Big Sam" Palmisano. They controlled how IBM execs would be compensated and when, the timing of public releases on contracts, purchases, mergers, earnings, dividend payments, stock buy-backs, and on and on. A lot of the Big Execs sold at a profit during the same time period in 2008 that Blabber Mouth was "sharing" info with "Hot Lips" Chiesi.
What a coincidence !!!
In some other Corporation such “lucky” behavior might smack as illegal insider trading. But not at IBM –
TOO BIG BLUE TO FAIL.
IBM Execs cry all the way to the bank. It's now far past time that more of them cry all during their prison sentences.
An SEC, FBI, DOJ probe is clearly in order !
